Consequences - Part 9 of 9 (Finale)

"So that's the hairstyle you went with?" I said, greeting Lea in the school hallway.

"Yep," she said. "Thanks again for giving me the go-ahead on changing it."

"Happy to," I said. "I mean, it's probably not going to be my hair again anyway."

"Speaking of that..." Lea said, her voice lowering. "Could we talk after school today? In private?"

"It's about that time, isn't it?" I said, matching her volume. "Sure thing. My house?"

"Sure," Lea said. She started inching in the same direction she was walking before we spotted each other. "I've gotta get to class," she said. "But I'll see you at lunch!"

"See you then!" I said, holding my arm up in a 'goodbye' gesture. And when we next meet after that, I thought, I guess we decide our fate. To put it dramatically.

Consequences - Part 8 of 9

As we walked out of the swap clinic together, I gazed over at the girl by my side. The girl whose body I once knew as "me", and as Kirsten Falk before that. The girl whose mind I once knew as Jack, my boyfriend. The girl who I knew might stay with me as my girlfriend. Or might not. We'd have to wait and see.

"So... how does it feel?" I asked her.

"So far?" she said. "Amazing." She was silent for a moment. "How about you?"

I looked down at my hands. Not the exact same color or shape as any I'd had before, but unmistakably attached to a male body. "It feels pretty good," I said, smiling.

"I hope it stays that way," she said. "I just want that body to go to a better home."

"Don't you worry," I said. "I'll take good care of it."

"As long as it takes good care of you," she said.

Consequences - Part 7 of 9

"How are you two doing tonight?" asked the waitress. "Enjoying our rooftop terrace?"

"Yeah," Jack said. "The weather's nice this evening."

"It is," the waitress said. "Are both of you ready to order, or should I give you a few more minutes?"

Jack looked at me, and I gave him a slight nod. "I think we're ready," he said.

"Excellent," the waitress said. She turned to me. "Ladies first?"

I paused awkwardly for a moment. "Right. Sure." I peered at my menu, reminding myself of my choice.

Consequences - Part 6 of 9

"This was great," Jack said as we stood together on the sidewalk in front of his house.

"Yeah," I said. "As always."

Instead of saying goodbye and parting ways with me, Jack just stood there for a moment. Then he chuckled a bit and shook his head. "I don't want to leave," he said. "I don't want to leave you so soon."

This was a busy time of the school year for both Jack and me. Final essays, exams, and projects from a lot of our classes were bearing down on us. Even though there was no school today, we had both figured we could only take enough time off from studying for a short date. We got some ice cream and strolled around in the early June sun for a bit, but apparently, it had all just left Jack wanting more. And honestly, I felt the same.

Consequences - Part 5 of 9

For three months, I did as I planned: trying to act a little flirty toward Jack without being too blatant, and paying close attention to him in search of attempts to flirt back - or evidence that he was pursuing someone else. I got nothing out of him, though. As far as I could tell, his romantic life was the same as it had been for years: nonexistent. During that time, I did get asked out by someone else from our school, but I rejected him - not least because he kept calling me Kirsten, but also because my feelings for Jack weren't going anywhere.

One Thursday evening in January, I decided that I had waited long enough. I was tired of pining for Jack without doing anything about it, especially since I had plenty going for me: already being his long-time friend, not competing for his affections with anyone else (that I knew of), and, well, having the body of a beautiful girl (in most people's eyes, at least). Plus, the longer I waited, the more opportunity I gave the rest of the world to give me some competition. I resolved to ask Jack out after school the next day.

Consequences - Part 4 of 9

GAME!

Greninja wins!

"In your faces," I said, satisfied with myself. It had been a few days since I swapped with Kirsten, and I was hanging out with a few of my friends after school.

"I never thought Kirsten Falk would beat me in Smash," Jack said.

"I know, right?" said Ben. "I got personally Smashed by her twice!"

"I was this close to Smashing her," said Oliver, "but then Jack beat me to it."

"I'm not deaf to your little insinu-endos," I said in mock disgust. "You all can suck my dick."

"What dick?" Oliver said.

"I know. Realized as soon as I said it," I said. I paused for a moment. "But you guys know I'm not really Kirsten, right?"

Consequences - Kirsten's Night Out

(This is a side story from Kirsten's perspective, taking place before Part 3.)

---

I stood atop the front steps of Kayla's house, my car parked nearby. I took out my phone, opened the camera app, and switched it to selfie mode. Will Martin's face looked back at me from the screen. Unsightly, but probably the best I could've done for tonight. I snapped a picture and sent it to Kayla, accompanied by the message "Guess who?"

Soon after, the front door opened to reveal Kayla. "Eww. Who are you wearing?" she said, twisting her face into an exaggerated expression of disgust.

I giggled, pretty sure that was a joke. "Sorry about the body," I said. "I needed to swap with someone who didn't have anything better to do tonight than be a decoy."

"Don't worry about it," Kayla said, stepping back to let me inside. "It's not like any randos are going to see us with Will Martin."

Consequences - Part 3 of 9

I awoke, the sensations of Kirsten's body quickly reminding me of what happened last night. I reached for my phone and checked the time - past 9:30 AM. I was grateful that Mr. and Mrs. Falk had let me get in a full night's sleep, instead of waking me up when Kirsten came home. Either that, or Kirsten hadn't come home, and she and my body were still missing...

I took off Kirsten's pajamas and threw on the set of her clothes that I had set aside for myself. Unlike the first time I fully changed clothes in this body, I was awake enough that I couldn't help but appreciate the sight of its smooth skin and feminine curves laid bare. As I put on my bra - which took me well over a minute, not at all to my surprise - I resisted the urge to cup Kirsten's breasts in my hands.

As I exited the guest room, intending to use the bathroom, I heard a TV on downstairs, but I couldn't make out any real voices accompanying it. After I relieved myself and washed my hands, I splashed a bit of water on my face, but I didn't attempt any washing up beyond that. I didn't even know which toothbrush or hairbrush was Kirsten's.

Now, I was ready to head downstairs and check in with the Falks, assuming they were there. Guided by the sound of the TV, I found them soon enough - but the figure seated on the sofa near them made my borrowed heart skip a beat. It was my body, but in a neck brace, and with its right arm in a cast!

Consequences - Part 2 of 9

This is a good look for Kirsten, I thought as I posed and snapped a few selfies. Of course, most of the looks I've tried have been good. But with a body like this underneath them all, who'd expect otherwise?

Just then, I heard noise downstairs. It sounded like a car entering the garage. My phone told me it wasn't even 8 PM yet, so unless Kirsten had left the party early... this was probably her parents, back from their dinner date.

Kirsten told me to talk to her parents as little as possible, I recalled, so I don't give away that I'm not really her. If I just stay in here, I wonder if they'll leave me alone.

"Kirsten?" called an adult male voice, muffled by the door of Kirsten's bedroom. "Where are you?"

Guess that answers my question, I thought. I opened the bedroom door and, reluctantly, called back. "I'm up here!"

"Come down and say hi to us, Kirsten," said the voice - presumably Kirsten's dad.

Consequences - Part 1 of 9

"Thanks for reaching out," I said to Kirsten. "What do you need help with?"

"So... you know the party at Robert Fraser's house tonight?" Kirsten began.

"Sure," I said. I hadn't heard of it until now, but an instinct told me not to sound uncool in front of one of the class' most popular girls.

"Well, I really want to go," Kirsten said, "but I think a lot of Robert's friends from the basketball team will be there, and you know how they are around girls. I just want to have a fun evening without getting hit on every two minutes."

"I see," I said. "Do you want me to go with you and help keep them off you, or something?" I hadn't caught wind of any rumors about the boys' basketball team being creeps, but maybe I just wasn't in the know.

"No, no," Kirsten said. "I wouldn't make you do that. Instead, can we swap bodies, just for the evening? I'll go to the party in your body, and you can hang out here until I'm back."

Do-It-For-Yourself Haircut

"Hey, baby?" my girlfriend Hannah asked me one Saturday afternoon, when we were hanging out in her apartment.

"Yeah?" I said.

"I've been thinking," she said, "and I've decided I want to change my hair."

"Oh?" I said. "What do you want to do with it?" I was a little worried, since I liked Hannah's chest-length brown waves the way they were. Considering she worked as a hairstylist, though, I figured she'd probably have the taste to pick out something flattering - or maybe just something weird, for the sake of her art.

"I definitely want to go shorter," Hannah said, "but I don't have all the details nailed down. If this were a client who told me 'use your own judgment', I could experiment as I was cutting, no sweat - but this is me, and I don't have nearly as much experience cutting my own hair as cutting other people's. On the other hand, though, I'd feel silly paying another stylist to be a pair of hands for me..."

"What if we swapped bodies for a few hours?" I said. "You sit me down, and cut your own hair using my body."

"That's a good idea!" Hannah said. "We can do it right in the kitchen. I'll go gather what we need."

Wish Gone Wrong - Part 3 of 3 (Finale / Choose your own ending!)

Note: I've removed some photo illustrations from this story because, in hindsight, I'm not sure whether they were made public with the consent of the people in them. Feel free to suggest appropriate replacement photos, as I seem to be bad at finding them.

[Two side-by-side images. Left: Amber. Right: Danielle's body with a ghostly image of Brandon's face behind it.]

Amber's dad took us into her room and closed the door behind us. "What unusual thing have you noticed about the statue?" he asked her.

Amber sighed. "My boyfriend made a wish near it, and now he and Dani have switched bodies."

"Hi," I said, extending my hand. "I'm Brandon."

Amber's dad shook it. "Pleasure to meet you, 'son'," he said, "but I thought you weren't coming here with my daughter."

"He didn't come here," Amber said. "I took the statue to Milwaukee with me."

Amber's dad's eyes widened briefly. "You must have thought it was just decoration, huh?" he said to her. "Damn it. I should have hidden it better. I thought if it looked like just another piece of attic junk, everyone would ignore it."

Amber and I found her parents' house empty. Not surprising, since she said they went to a movie, and they probably wouldn't be back for an hour or so.

"We'll just wait here for them," Amber said, making sure Danielle could hear over the phone.

"Is it alright if I hang up?" Danielle said. "I'm more comfortable by now, and I'd rather just... have some alone time."

"Sure," Amber said. "I'll call you back when we know more."

"Just don't get too comfortable in my body," I said.

"Wouldn't dream of it," Danielle said. "Love you, sis." She ended the call.

[Image: A young white woman, outdoors, with chest-length straight blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a white sleeveless top and black shorts. She is smiling.]

I first met Amber about a year and a half ago, when I moved to Milwaukee for graduate school. She was beautiful, and smart, and her confidence was stunning. I had been admiring her from afar for a couple of weeks when she asked me out on a date, and of course I said yes. I'm pretty sociable, and I've been told I'm "cute" enough myself, but at first, I couldn't understand what a woman as wonderful as her wanted with a guy like me.

One Shape Fits All

(Originally posted on Reddit here.)

---

Adam, Jamie, and I walked homeward, both of them trailing behind me, through the dim city streets. The three of us had been roommates for a few months now, but we hadn't come to know each other very well. I convinced them to go on this night out as a house bonding experience. We ate at a restaurant and had some decent conversation, but no one could afford to drink much, since we all had work tomorrow. Adam and Jamie also acted kind of awkward around me, like they both had crushes on me but wouldn't admit it. That was an occupational hazard of being a girl with guys as roommates, I guess, but I could live with it. Come to think of it, I wondered if they were walking behind me so they could look at my ass.

While we were taking a shortcut through an empty alley, a bright light surrounded me, and suddenly, I was... somewhere else. A well-lit square chamber, made of something like gray plastic, about the size of a high school classroom, but with a high ceiling and three glass walls. As I looked around in confusion, I saw that Adam and Jamie were there with me, at least. The space beyond the glass was dark, but if I looked closely, I could make out silhouettes of figures moving around in it. Whatever they were, they were much too tall to be human.
